Thu, April 3, 12:00 to 1:30pm, Convention Center, Floor: 200 Level, Hall E

Abstract

This qualitative case study examined the role of principals at early college high schools in North Carolina. Specifically, it examined how principals implemented and maintained the early college high school design principles of ensuring college readiness, powerful teaching and learning, personalization, professionalism and purposeful design. The study could inform practices within university educational leadership programs, future studies about the principal’s role during innovative school reforms and future research about high school college readiness and the role of principals.
