Abstract

Teaching and learning can be transformed by building on and documenting faculty wisdom of practice. Connecting faculty through Faculty Learning Communities that share, assess, select and collect effective practices (approaches, activities and assignments; technology-enhanced or activity-oriented) that are class-tested and proven to promote learning. This session shares the culminating products and process of a multi-year curriculum redesign initiative that engaged 14 faculty teams and 29 full-time and part-time faculty in course redesign, testing, piloting and selecting of shared and compared teaching experiences. Course Kits present the agreed vision for the course incorporating appropriate technologies (from no/low tech to higher tech) in a kaleidoscope of strategic scaffolding.
