Positive Relational Coaching: Developing and Retaining Effective and Equitable Urban Middle School Teachers

Abstract

This presentation focuses on the development of a content-specific, relationship-based coaching framework, called Positive Relational Coaching framework (PRC), as a leverage point to provide critical support to urban middle school teachers. Our goal is to discover not only how middle school teachers currently perceive coaching, but also what impact the development of the PRC Framework might have on teacher practices, retention in urban schools, and content expertise.
