Fri, April 4, 2:15 to 3:45pm, Marriott, Floor: Fourth Level, 408

Abstract

Over the last two decades, higher education in many countries has explored similar overall approaches to quality. A “standard model” has emerged internationally, with significant variations in the operations of this model across national contexts. This paper first summarizes these standardizations and variations, and then examines quality assurance and quality enhancement in Chinese higher education in comparison to these international trends. This paper also discusses four perennial questions about quality that higher education community in China and internationally will continue to wrestle with. Scholarly and practical significance is also discussed.
