Governmental Subsidies for Higher Education Abroad: How Effective Are They?

Thu, April 3, 2:15 to 3:45pm, Convention Center, Floor: Terrace Level, Terrace IV

Abstract

This paper offers an assessment of the impact of government-funded student mobility programs in higher education on economic growth and political freedom in the sending country. Using panel data regression, the paper estimates the impact of government-funded cross-border mobility programs compared to privately funded cross-border mobility, and the magnitude of impact across different types of government-funded programs.
