How to Be a Digital District Leader: Advice From Tech-Savvy Superintendents

Abstract

Studies have shown that the leader is the most impactful school-related factor on student learning after classroom teachers themselves. To date however, technology leadership at the district level has been under researched. The purpose in this research was to interview a unique set of district leaders (i.e., tech savvy superintendents) and listen to what advice they might have to move the field of educational leadership forward. Thus this study gives voice to tech savvy superintendents as they discuss what is needed to address the school technology leadership needs of today’s school districts.
