Abstract

This phenomenological hermeneutical study by/of four white female teacher educators describes our lived experience of interrogating Whiteness. The objective of this presentation will be to describe challenges we experienced in examining Whiteness and tools we found that facilitated the process. The purpose of the investigation is not to provide a recipe for interrogating Whiteness. Rather, it is to promote critical reflection and action among teacher educators who wish to speak back to the persistent opportunity and outcome gap in U.S schools through critically informed teacher education.
