Abstract

This research project examined physics teachers’ Notions about Science (NoS) and Methods of Instruction (MoI). An explorative interview study (n=37) was conducted and data were analyzed according to descriptive and understanding interview analysis. The aim of this analysis was to find characteristic depictions and arrange them into a taxonomy of NoS and MoI. In the following, prototypical interview segments that may serve as anchors in the taxonomy were selected and intercoder reliability of their assignment within the taxonomy showed a high agreement.
