A Pilot Study of Adult Literacy Student Pathways Between Secondary and Postsecondary Education

Abstract

A growing issue in adult literacy programs is moving students who have passed the General Education Development (GED) tests to postsecondary education. This quantitative research uses logistic regression to explore state adult literacy students datasets to better understand demographic factors and patterns of factors that influence student progression from secondary to postsecondary education. The sample is 962 students who left a Kansas public school, enrolled in an adult literacy center and earned a GED, and successfully transitioned into a postsecondary program.
