Sat, April 5, 10:35am to 12:05pm, Convention Center, Floor: 100 Level, 115A

Abstract

This case study explores early childhood admissions practices in independent schools across the United States and Canada. The study provides a review of existing literature on the practice of early childhood assessment and the various instruments used by schools as part of their process. Cases were developed for each site in the study then analyzed across all cases for emerging themes. These themes are reported in the context of practice and the existing literature as both a critical review and a description of practice. Issues related to current practice are explored and implications are discussed.
