Abstract

This qualitative study aims to explore if instructional design students make design judgments when designing real-world projects, how, when and where they are making design judgments and also what kinds of judgments they are making during instructional design process. By observing a group of instructional design students during their collaborative work of a design project in a well-known instructional design program in Midwest, the researcher found instructional design students are making design judgments through design process in a complex way. The paper also provides detailed analysis of instructional design students design judgment process.
