The purpose of this presentation is to report on a study that will assist practitioners and researchers who seek to develop customized learning initiatives, projects, or curriculum in one of the fastest growing areas of education, namely online K-12 education. A K-12 online learner profile that is defined by demographic characteristics may assist in providing a basic persona for which customized, innovative education solutions can be imagined and created, which will ultimately benefit all learners. Examples of variables that will be examined include: (1) Gender, (2) Geographic Location, (3) Grade, (4) Ethnicity, (5) Special education 504 plan or IEP, (6) Gifted and talented or Advanced Academics, (7) English as a Second Language, (8) Free and reduced meals or Title 1, etc.
