The pedagogy of debt creates a new discursive space to name, critique and to speak to these neoliberal predatory practices and policies as it frames the daily lives of society in general and specifically the lives of citizens and students. Within this critical analysis, the pedagogy of debt is a political tool that permeates the cultural politics of everyday life. The pedagogy of debt needs to be seen as a hegemonic tool mediating between the global corporate centers of power and the common citizen as it: identifies and illuminates the conditions in which it operates, and how it teaches individuals their place, their roles, and their responsibilities as economic pawns in this global financial chess board.
