Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to report the main findings of a research project on global citizenship in higher education in the UK, conducted from 2012 to 2013 with funding from the UK Higher Education Academy. In line with the conference theme, “The Power of Education Research for Innovation in Practice and Policy”, the parallel tracks of this project were (a) to research the perceptions of senior management, faculty members, administrative and support staff and students regarding global citizenship and the role of higher education in developing global citizenship, and (b) to use the findings of this part of the project to inform the development of university policy and programmes of global citizenship education for both staff and students.
