As the clinical component of teacher education has gained attention, this movement requires school principals who are responsible for inservice teacher supervison and teacher educators who are responsible for PST supervision to collaborate within the school context. The review explored the question, “What is the state of PST field supervision since the publication of the NCATE PDS Standards?” This comprehensive literature review explores the research published between 2001 and 2013 in the field of PST supervision. Findings suggest that little change has occurred in the university supervisor role or function during the last decade. Additionally, little empirical evidence suggests that the school leader is playing an increasing role in uniting preservice teacher and inservice teacher professional learning.
