Abstract

Numerous studies have shown that females continue to lag behind their male counterparts STEM fields. This study explores affective dispositions of mathematics and science in relation to NAEP mathematics and science achievement to inform the discussion on the persisting gap between male and females as it relates to the STEM field using data from 2009 NAEP HSTS.
