Teacher Interpersonal Behavior in Competence-Based Agricultural Secondary Education and Its Relation With Students’ Competence

Abstract

The objective of this study is to investigate the students’ perception on their teacher interpersonal behavior and its connection with students’ perception on their competencies. We collected the data using two instruments namely the Questionnaire on Teacher Interaction (QTI) and students’ self-rating of the Competency Development Meter (CDM). 623 students from 13 agricultural secondary schools in three provinces in Indonesia involved in this study. The results show that student’s self-rating competency assessment promised a reliable instrument in competence-based education. The correlation analysis shows the small correlation between the dimension of teacher interpersonal behaviour and the three competencies in the CDM.
