This paper strives to expand possibilities between curriculum studies, teacher education, and self-study. This session will share a multi-authored paper on the conceptual and practical framework of a collaborative book project, which presents a study scaffolding as a way to reconceptualize curriculum development as a way of learning through experience that develops the practical wisdom that is necessary for an emancipatory, holistic pedagogy. The authors will explore how the book’s seven-topic scaffolding presents ways to foster reflective inquiry the lives of teachers through examining their own practice, their beliefs and images of teaching, and their relationships with colleagues. This paper will also explore connections the authors see between the book’s scaffolding and the nature of self-study.
