Abstract

This paper aims to identify the core components of a college student moral exemplar and to justify the importance of these qualities within a liberal, pluralistic society. To that end, this largely theoretical paper draws from both psychological and philosophical literatures. While the empirical literature indicates what qualities are important, philosophy justifies why these qualities are worth instilling in students.
