Abstract

Studies in attitudes and views of mathematics and statistics are common. However investigating faculty views of statistics teaching, content, and general applicability is less common. As a result, it is important to understand the perceptions of statistics held by faculty in general, since their students take statistics courses. The purpose of this study is to fill a void in the literature and introduce a newly developed instrument to measure the faculty perceptions of statistics. While, this work will provide a basic context for the development of the instrument, this research will focus on validating the instrument and looking at the measurement invariance of the instrument.
