Mapping Creativity in Teaching and Learning: A Rubric for Creative Work

Abstract

This paper presents the rationale and methodology of a qualitative study on the creativity demonstrated by students enrolled in a Master's level course at a major mid-western university. The following paper describes a new way of defining creativity, which helps us to better understand its components and how they are applicable in the field of education and the profession of teaching. More importantly, we describe the use of a rubric developed as a flexible measurement scale for considering creativity within student work.
