Sun, April 6, 2:15 to 3:45pm, Convention Center, Floor: Terrace Level, Terrace IV

Abstract

The Illinois Mathematics and Science Partnership state evaluation investigates the effectiveness of collaborative relationships between universities, schools, and industry partners to inform policies for the state’s Mathematics and Science Partnership grant. The program is designed to improve the performance of students through university and school collaborations that improve mathematics and science teaching. These IMSP programs are comprised of graduate level Master’s programs and Workshop Institute Programs that provide summer institutes with follow-up activities. Both models incorporate collaboration between science, technology, engineering, and mathematics organizations, universities, and local school districts and service agencies. This report summarizes the IMSP progress toward transformative partnerships across seven dimensions: Partnership Composition, Organizational Structure, Operational Guidelines, Partnership Quality, Performance & Outcomes, Sustainability, and Local Evaluation Implementation.
