Abstract

The purpose of this paper and roundtable discussion is to examine the varied roles and responsibilities of assessment practitioners, a field in which people enter from many disciplinary paths requiring no structured formal assessment related training and is one that is increasingly in flux in relation to the changing nature of higher education. This paper is in part a response to the division in dialogue between scholarship and practice and in part because of the realities of the varied role of assessment practitioners.
