Our work is set against the backdrop of the pervasive discussion of harnessing online games for providing students with new constructivist learning opportunities. Upon the theoretical foundation, we have developed VISOLE (Virtual Interactive Student-Oriented Learning Environment), a teaching framework for implementing constructivist online game-based learning in formal school education. In this paper, besides elaborating the pedagogical design of VISOLE, we discuss our study on investigating teachers’ concerns about this educational innovation in terms of five concern categories—Evaluation, Information, Management, Consequence, and Refocusing. Results revealed that the Management concerns among 118 teachers were the most intense. With this "diagnostic" knowledge, more precise interventions addressing teachers’ actual needs can be provided to assist them in implementing VISOLE at school.
