Catholic universities within Latin America have provided a quality education to students both at the secondary and tertiary levels. While numerous studies have investigated the experiences of students at non-Catholic universities, little to no research has explored the experiences of Latin American students who attend these schools, particularly as civic stewards in society. As such, this paper aims to contribute to this gap in the research by focusing on fifteen students who attend a Catholic university in Central America. Findings from this study indicate that students see university as an opportunity become socially conscience in a university environment. However, they are challenged to navigate the different cultures that frame their university culture and life outside the university.
