This study seeks to compare the opportunity to learn scientific content and skills promoted by the Elementary Science textbooks of Chile, Singapore and Canada and their alignment with national curriculum. 35 student´s Elementary Science textbooks from first to sixth grade were analyzed by TIMSS´s scientific content and cognitive processes. Among the results the most relevant are Life Science content (Singapore, 49.9 %; Chile, 41.5 %; Canada, 29.1 %) and understand cognitive process (Singapore, 58.8 %; Canada, 55.3 %, Chile, 41.9 %) have the higher presence. Canada presents the major degree of consistency between the declared content in the national curriculum and the promoted content of the textbooks (0.925), followed by Singapore (0.848) and Chile (0.726).
