Mon, April 7, 12:25 to 1:55pm, Convention Center, Floor: Terrace Level, Terrace IV

Abstract

1. The authors wish to share their implementation and longitudinal study of a critical graduate level study group. The authors will discuss personal and contextual barriers to success in the graduate world that instigated the need for the groups implementation. The personal narrative of each researcher will be woven with the academic purposes of the groups founding. The researchers will discuss similar practices that frame their study. The themes of identity of academic researcher, academic writer and timely finisher of graduate school demands will be examined. Impact on methodological considerations will be examined. Questions of how these findings can influence other programs and university will be discussed and advice solicited. Implications for further study will be questioned.
