This qualitative research project offers the heuristic of an archive to explore how bodies of people, knowledge, and histories are mobilized, represented, constructed, and contested across different times, spaces, and scales. It considers how an archive humanizes methodology, pedagogy, ontology, and epistemology. This project simultaneously constructs and interrogates a dynamic archive of multimodal artifacts collected between and within South Korea, the Philippines, and the United States. It explores the possibilities of telling a story as both Subject/Object and Colonizer/Colonized, and how an archive incites a site of epistemological anxiety. By situating and exploding historical events, social processes, and multimodal literacies that inform notions of voice, memories, and movement, the heuristic of an archive opens possibilities for feminist decolonial pedagogies.
