Making Critical Connections: Innovative Approaches to Building Relationships and Dialogue to Create a More Equity-Centered School

Abstract

Davis High School and its university partners have set forth in unchartered territory and united through participatory action research to understand how social justice oriented professional development and youth voice are related to perspectives on equity and students’ learning experiences. As our collaborative research unfolds, this study will reflect critically on the connections made through research findings from empirically valid, valuable (youth) participatory action research projects to research and practice on school improvement.
