The Influence of Undergraduate Student Loan Debt on Postbaccalaureate Aspirations

Abstract

We use a nationally representative sample of first-time postsecondary students to analyze the influence of undergraduate debt on graduate school aspirations. We find no evidence that debt is an inhibiting factor in students’ aspirations.
