Sat, April 5, 2:45 to 4:15pm, Convention Center, Floor: 100 Level, 118B

Abstract

Based on Tarter and Hoy (1998)’s framework of problem-solving and decision-making models, this study surveyed about three hundred superintendents to document the leadership dilemmas that frequently face superintendents and the problem solving approaches they frequently use in decision making. Additionally, the study aims to identify the decision making strategies associated with specific leadership dilemma situations. Results from the study will help better understand superintendents’ decision making processes.
