Characteristics Related to the Development of Vocational Excellence: A Study of International Vocational Skills Competition Competitors

Abstract

In this paper, we investigated the role of Finnish Shizuoka 2007, Calgary 2009, London 2011 and Leipzig 2013 WorldSkills competitors’ (WSC) natural abilities, intrinsic characteristics, and domain and non-domain specific extrinsic conditions to their talent development with quantitative (n = 152) samples. The results of the survey with competitors showed differences in the characteristics of the most and least successful WorldSkills competitors.
