Preservice Special Education Teacher Efficacy and Use of Praise Statements Within the TLE TeachLivE Virtual Classroom

Abstract

The purpose of this research study is to investigate pre-service special education teacher efficacy and the usefulness of the TLE TeachLivE™ virtual classroom in preparing pre-service special education teachers to work with varying levels of student behaviors while recording rates of praise. The TeachLivE™ simulator will provide opportunities for pre-service special education students to practice essential skills and behaviors associated with effective behavior management strategies. This study will address pre-service teachers pre- and post- sense of efficacy and whether early experiences within the TLE TeachLivE™ virtual classroom have an impact on the rate and extent to which pre-service special education teachers effectively use praise within a classroom setting.
