Statewide Implementation of Student Learning Objectives

Abstract

The third presentation will address the design, implementation, and ongoing modification of one state’s SLO process, from the perspective of a state that is utilizing SLOs as a prominent student outcome measure for all teachers and principals under a new educator effectiveness system. Discussion will focus on specific technical and policy issues considered by a state SLO working group, the decisions made by the group, and revisions to policies based on results from a developmental pilot conducted during the 2012-13 school year.
