Programs that offer support to teachers in their implementation of effective practices to support children’s social emotional development and reduce disruptive behavior are critical to increase the likelihood of successful outcomes for students and teachers. The purpose of this presentation will be to present results from an efficacy trial evaluating the Incredible Years Teacher Classroom Management program (IY TCM; Webster-Stratton, 1997). One essential part of the IY TCM program is the provision of coaching between intervention sessions. Findings related to teachers’ use of specific positive practices to support children’s social emotional growth and teacher characteristics that related to specific practices will be presented. Challenges for the future related to implementing evidence-based practices in schools will also be discussed.
