Abstract

An American Psychological Association (APA) coalition of psychologists, known as CPSE (Coalition for Psychology in Schools and Education), aimed to identify the most important principles from psychology that would be of greatest use in the context of counseling and classroom teaching and learning, and to specify the implications of each principle for practice in schools. Learning, instruction, and guidance are intricately linked to psychological factors including cognition (cognitive development); human development; motivation; social interaction; communication; and understanding of data, tests, measurement, and research methods.
