Abstract

Using Network Ideas to Plan for Adoption and Implementation of New Standards. In this presentation, I will discuss tools intended to help states and districts identify the location of expertise relevant to curriculum, assessment, and professional development needed to implement the Next Generation Science Standards. I will describe how expertise location and network concepts might be used to complement traditional planning tools for change, drawing on practical work to help states with anticipating implementation challenges for NGSS.
