Enhancing Educational Achievement With Black Males

Fri, April 4, 8:15 to 10:15am, Convention Center, Floor: 200 Level, 201C

Abstract

Discussion of a multicultural teaching and learning strategy designed to reactivate fascination with the learning process for Black males by utilizing a mixture of discussion, family, peer group and community approaches. To facilitate the development of culturally competent teaching and learning classroom strategies with Black males, educational organizations, teacher training programs and school districts need to foster teaching programs that teach teachers how to develop tools and classroom interaction strategies that build on the learning and psychosocial styles that students bring to the classrooms.
