Abstract

Dr. Schulz is Research Director of ACER’s International Surveys program and has been working at ACER since 2001. He has a university degree in Political Science and is Doctor of Economic and Social Sciences (University of Rostock). Prior to joining ACER, he worked for three years as Associate International Coordinator of the IEA Civic Education Study at Humboldt University in Berlin. Dr. Schulz is an internationally recognized expert in large-scale assessment methodology and comparative cross-national survey research who has been involved in the coordination of numerous international studies including OECD PISA, the IEA International Civic and Citizenship Education Study (ICCS 2009 and 2016) and the IEA International Computer and Information Literacy Study (ICILS 2013). Furthermore, he has been coordinating work on Australian national assessment studies on Civics and Citizenship (2004, 2007, 2010 and 2013) and ICT Literacy (2005, 2008 and 2011). Dr. Schulz will speak from his experience as the Assessment coordinator for the International Association for the Evaluation of Educational Achievement (IEA) International Study of Computer and Information Literacy (ICILS).
