Preventing Bullying through School Climate Reform Efforts

Abstract

The next paper (Jonathan Cohen) will summarize a coordinated set of systemic, instructional, and one-on-one improvement efforts that promote safer, more supportive, engaging, and flourishing schools. Recent national survey findings about what educators report they need and want to support effective school climate reforms efforts will be summarized. Information about recommended school climate policy as well as practice guidelines and tools will be summarized. This paper will summarize recent collaborative work by Dorothy Espelage, Stuart Twemlow, Marvin Berkowitz and James Comer as well as research-based school climate policy guidelines.
