Session Type: Symposium
Five papers will be presented in this symposium focused on respectful caregiving in group care environments for children ages birth-three years. Researchers present findings from their research and professional development experiences related to primary caregiving, continuity of care, and sensitive responsiveness in the caregiving of infants and toddlers in group care. The meaning of the presenters’ collected scholarship, as well as that of others from a review of the literature will be discussed in terms of quality improvement systems in birth-three caregiving and in the preparation and ongoing support of teachers, as well as how to move forward to influence state regulations, national accreditation and other policies that influence respectful care and education for infants and toddlers, and their families.
