Session Type: Symposium
This symposium features four presentations centered on Catholic schools, each appearing in a recently released definitive work on faith-based schooling in the United States. The current session delves deeply into important milestones in the history of Catholic education, pertinent legal issues—both state and federal—regarding religious schooling, and current challenges and opportunities facing Catholic education. The symposium presentations, and integrative comments offered by the chair, will also address implications of this collective inquiry for contemporary Catholic schools and highlight new topics and trajectories of research in the growing field of Catholic educational research.
