Abstract

Shanghai, as the most developed metropolis in China, is leading the Life-long Learning Initiative to develop the city into a learning city available to “anyone, anytime and anywhere” (SMC, 2006), and to transform learning places across the city into ICT-rich environments (Goodyear et al., 2010; Gu et al., 2013). A considerable amount of ICT equipment has been developed, but few have considered the innovation of learning design. Exploring the means of implementing the innovative learning design in this kind of ICT-rich environment as well as the lessons that could be learned from these learning applications is important. This symposium aims to deliberate the innovative learning design that has been implemented in the ICT-rich environment, and attempts to scale up e-learning innovations
