Session Type: Roundtable Session
This session describes the implementation of two projects funded by Investing in Innovation (i3) grants from the US Department of Education and their core components. Both projects target early childhood (pre-kindergarten through third grade) teachers serving high-need populations in two of the nation’s largest school districts. Both projects are undergoing external evaluation and are using fidelity of implementation data to assess the impact of core components. These external evaluations measure program fidelity to the originally proposed models that will help explain results by identifying which program components matter most, or why some schools have stronger outcomes. The project design teams have been able to use these data to make updates to program implementation that both increase program fidelity and effectiveness.
