Session Type: Symposium
This symposium brings together studies that address situated online and offline videogame practices that provide young people access and opportunities to engage in innovative learning. Across the four papers, we examine adolescent gamers’ practices in diverse learning environments on and off the screen. Exploring feedback, socially mediated power structures, interest-driven practices, and game-based materials in classroom spaces, this symposium presents a nuanced understanding of literacy and learning in light of contemporary socio-cultural contexts.
