Abstract

The papers contain theoretical elements from performance studies, psychoanalysis, critical geography, and critical social theory, navigating the authors’ inquiries by engaging research participants in practices frequently falling outside of dominant paradigms of qualitative research. Using methods such as walking, mapping, spectating, and photographing, the studies anchoring these papers gesture towards the possibilities for post-qualitative research recently promoted by several recognized allies of curriculum studies (Lather & St. Pierre, 2013; MacLure, 2013; Jackson & Mazzei, 2013). The staged presence of a school auditorium, the sweltering heat of a metropolitan city, the mixture of color of a student’s photograph, and the textures of an assembled collage foreground the materiality of our lived worlds as irreducible components of curriculum.
