Session Type: Symposium
Performance assessment is an expanding field in professions education and a source for innovation in practice and policy, because faculty and researchers across undergraduate and graduate professions focus curricular improvements on direct student performance in classrooms and portfolio assessments for developing professional roles. Performance assessment in legal education from a literature review; assessing performance in engineering practice across 20 years; interdisciplinary education across domains of practice; and building blocks for faculty development across professions focus the presentations. Following the symposium, McKee and Park lead small groups and summarize contributions for Professions Education Research Quarterly. This symposium broadens performance assessment across professions by involving audience participants in issues and solutions for their own campus practices.
