Session Type: Symposium
The purpose of this interactive session is to reflect on the title question, “Can we conduct research into leadership for social justice in ways that are perceived to be rigorous and meaningful?” The session will be conducted in three parts: brief presentations based on a new handbook on leadership for social (in)justice, a town hall meeting, and a discussion about how to move research into social justice leadership forward in rigorous ways. Our session objectives are to address current critiques of research directed at addressing social (in)justice, to examine some new and promising approaches, to understand how these approaches might move the field forward, and to strengthen commitment to the use and dissemination of these practices.
