Session Type: Symposium
The exponential rate of technological advances provides researchers with the opportunity to continually create and explore novel ways to use technology to enhance assessments. As new assessment types are being developed, it is also necessary to consider their psychometric properties to ensure the validity and reliability of the assessments. The papers presented in this symposium will highlight some of the uses and strengths of assessments integrated into contemporary Computer Based Learning Environments (CBLE), including tracking learning while interacting with a CBLE lesson, using cognitive diagnostic assessments, evaluating the modes of formative feedback in a technology class, and data mining students’ written work as measures of performance.
