Session Type: Symposium
Over the past decade a widening group of scholars has begun to argue that global, inter-national, and regional actors and policy processes in education are becoming increasingly influential, and deserve heightened attention both from education policy scholarship and from scholars of international relations and global public policy. Rising interest in the impact of transnational policy actors on educational futures, and the growth of a significant literature on global policy making in education, suggest that the timing is right for an international compendium of research on global policy and policy-making in education. This symposium presents a group of six papers commissioned for the Handbook of Global Policy and Policy Making in Education (Mundy, Green, Lingard and Verger, eds.) (Wiley-Blackwell Press).
